Kit Harington: “It’s good to see you too! It’s Kit btw.”
Acquaintance: “Oh, okay Kit Snow!”
Kit Harington (Jon Snow) is one of the most loved characters from Game of Thrones. And as much as he may seem to be the dark loom and gloom type of character, he’s actually got a crazy sense of humor! Here’s a peek on what it’s like to be Jon snow for real from his mouth to this article!
The white walkers are actually pretty scary:
Imagine waking up and finding a white walker on your dining table accompanying you for breakfast, weird huh? Well, that’s game of thrones for ya!
“They look the same as they do on screen so it’s pretty bizarre having lunch with them later on off screen”
Spent 5 years in Belfast:
Game of thrones is shot in a lot of different amazing places like Croatia, Iceland, Spain etc. however more of Kit Harington’s shoots were done in Belfast- unfortunately.
What he has to say for the tourists wanting to visit; “Its wonderful for two or three days -I’ve been there 5 years.”
Kit also speaks of a joke that the people there pull on different film crews; “They have a delicacy, its shark. It’s aah... they bury it underground, they let it rot, but before they let it rot, they all stand around it and urinate on the shark. And then, they leave it for about three months. Then they dig it up and they serve it to wandering film crews. And as you’re eating it, they tell you what’s, ahh… what’s happened to the shark.”
The fight scenes are harder than they look:
The fight scenes in GoT are a result of hours and weeks of practice and hard work. Sometimes they would coordinate and practice ten fights and the director would walk in and say, “Nope I don’t like any of them” So they would have to start all over again and come up with more-on the plus side Kit admits that because of this he can now pick fights in real life!
The time Kit wasn’t tall enough to be Jon Snow:
“A girl walked up to me at a bar and said ‘you look exactly like Jon snow’ and I said ‘Actually, I am’ and she said ‘No he’s much taller than you’ and well, I just said ‘You know what, yeah I lied’”
Yeah that actually happened! Kit wasn’t tall enough to be Jon Snow!
Honestly, I’d love staring at Kit Harington even if it was from a mile away tbh, so what if he’s shorter than we expected!
Epic Movie Mistakes Probably just happen because of people like Kit:
“I always get this temptation, we were filming one of my scenes and there was another one going on in kings landing and I had a break. So I thought, if I just like snuck in, as an extra, would anyone notice? I’d just sit in the background with my cloak on would anyone really notice? It could be like one of those, great movie mistakes with Jon snow in the background”
Well with a pretty face like his, I’m sure someone would if not everyone!
The Extras of the Night’s Watch:
In the night’s watch, it’s always the same bunch of extras each and everytime.
“They’re a great bunch. They’ve even a Facebook group and everything. They call themselves ‘The Real Night’s Watch’”
He didn’t choose the thuglife, the thuglife chose him:
Kit Harington auditioned for the role of Jon snow 3 times, out of which once he even has a black eye.
Kit: “I got into a real bloody fight that day”
Interviewer: “Okay so like in a bar or something?”
Kit: “Oh no, at McDonald’s!”
Yup,the man got into a fight at McDonalds,not the happiest of meals probably.
High without a pill for sure:
The interviewer and Kit both grew up in Acton which is west of London. So he asks kit if he has ever been to The Slug and Lattice to which he replies;
“Yes, many many times I’ve been there. Where is it?”
Well,no matter what he does and says Kit will always be the most loved and adored member of the crew!
